Despite the innumerable road safety campaigns and awareness drives, India still ranks first in the number of road accident deaths among 195 countries. The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has entrusted the Indian Road Safety Campaign to lead road safety activities aimed at citizen involvement in road safety measures across the nation to improve safety and reduce road crash casualties.
